Albachiara sits in Frazione Bianica, a small residential hamlet above Tavernola Bergamasca on the western shore of Lake Iseo. The elevation is the point. From the terrace, you see the lake, Monte Isola, and the surrounding mountains without obstruction — a view that photographs well and lives even better in the morning light.

The apartment itself is compact and well-organised: one bedroom, a living area with sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher and washing machine, and a private garden with outdoor furniture where guests consistently eat lunch rather than going inside. Steps away, a shared pool sits within the residential complex — small, uncrowded, with its own terrace.

The defining quality of Albachiara is not a single feature but a combination that is genuinely rare: a private garden with a lake view at this elevation, a pool that is almost never crowded, and a level of silence that guests from Germany, France, the Netherlands and Poland have described in almost identical terms — ruhig, calme, rustig, spokój.

The terrace faces southwest across the lake towards Monte Isola. In summer, the light in the late afternoon catches the water and the island in a way that makes evenings on the terrace genuinely difficult to leave. In spring and autumn, the valley fills with mist in the mornings and clears to extraordinary clarity by mid-morning.

The pool is a shared facility within the residence — not large, but almost always available to guests. Guests consistently mention it as a highlight, particularly families with children and couples who use it as an alternative to the drive down to the lake.

Location

Tavernola Bergamasca is a small village on the western shore of Lake Iseo, roughly midway along the lake between Sarnico and Lovere. It has a lakefront, a few restaurants, a bar, a small grocery store and the kind of unhurried rhythm that doesn’t appear in travel guides.

Albachiara is not in Tavernola itself but in Frazione Bianica, the residential hamlet on the hillside above it. The elevation creates the view and the quiet. It also creates the access.

The access road. This is the single most important practical detail about this property, and it is worth understanding clearly before booking. The road from Tavernola up to Bianica is narrow and steep — one section reaches approximately 20-25% gradient. It is paved throughout and used daily by residents, including delivery vehicles. But it requires comfort driving on hillside single-track roads with passing places. Guests who are confident on this type of road find it quick and easy (7–10 minutes from the lakefront). Guests who are not comfortable on narrow hillside roads should consider this carefully. There is an alternative route from the other direction that is less steep but longer (approximately 4km). Our team provides detailed driving instructions before every arrival — follow these rather than GPS navigation, which occasionally directs guests to the more challenging approach.
